We know that the winter is on the way…I’m curious to know what you guys planning for this upcoming season, so is there any plans to explore new places?…it’s good to know that you wanted to explore a new place with new adventure.. but do you have any idea which place is best to visit in this mid-October? If your answer is no then don’t worry I have one place that you can make your vacation meaningful, this state is also known as GODS OWN COUNTRY..yes.. you guessed right, Kerala..let’s explore this beautiful state.
Before we explore this state, first we should know a bit about Kerala. The word Kerala derives from the Malayalam word called “Kera” which means “coconut tree” and Alam means “land” so we can say that Kerala is a land of coconuts. And it’s true when you travel by any means of transport you will witness various coconut trees having coconuts hanging on them with tasty coconut drink..and trust me, everyone, it’s so awesome when you taste it. one more thing that this state has located in the southwest of the Malabar coasts of India.
The famous festivals in Kerala are Onam, Vishu, Thrissur Pooram, Thiruvathira, Maha Shivaratri, Deepawali, Bakrid, and many other festivals.
The food that you can taste is dosa, idli, Sadiya, Erissery (Lentil & Pumpkin Stew), Idiyappam & Curry, Parippu Curry (Curried Dal), Appam & Ishtu (Stew), Puttu with Kadala Curry, Nadan Kozhi Varuthathu (Spicy Fried Chicken) and many other dishes that you can taste there in full Malayali style.
Ohh..yeah.., The people who live there were known as MALAYALIS OR KERALITIES. The capital of this state is Thiruvananthapuram in short Trivandrum. Kerala is famous for its temples, beaches, waterparks, sanctuaries, foods, classical dances, and songs, and much more…I know you are excited to let’s explore the places without any wastage of time.

So the first place that we are going to explore in Munnar. Munnar is the town and a hill station located in the Idukki district of the southwestern Indian state of Kerala. Munnar is also called KASHMIR of south India. The name Munnar is believed to mean “three rivers” because of its location the three rivers i.e. Mudhirapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundali where flow together.
The places that you can enjoy with your family are Echo point, Attukad Waterfalls, Top Station, Pothamedu viewpoint, Eravikulam National Park, Wonder Valley Adventure & Amusement Park, and many other adventures places in which you are surrounded by forests and greenery.
The next place that we are going to explore is Alleppey. Alleppey is also known as Alappuzha and “Venice of the east”. It is being ranked third in the literacy rate in the state of Kerala. The Alappuzha is also famous for its backwaters which attract thousands of tourists from all over the world.
Okay so the places that you can visit in Alappuzha were- Kuttanad Backwaters, St. Mary’s Forane Church, Krishnapuram Palace, Alleppey Lighthouse, Alleppey Beach, St. Andrew’s Basilica Arthunkal, Karumadi, Marari Beach, Edathua Church, and other important places that you can visit in Alappuzha, don’t miss the chance guys.
The next place that we are going to explore is Kochi which is also known as Cochin, is a major part of the city on the southwest of the coast of India, it is also a part of the district of Ernakulum in the state of Kerala. Kochi is famous for its spice. You know the residents of Kochi were also known as kochiites.
The place that you can visit in Kochi were- Chottanikara Bhagavathy Temple, Folklore Museum, Andhakaranazhi Beach, Santa Cruz Basilica, Mangalavanam Bird Sanctuary, Athirapally Falls, Kerala Kathakali Centre, Cherai Beach, and Mattancherry Palace, make sure you visit these places, without any doubt.
Okay after Kochi, we can visit Kumarakom. Kumarakom is located near the city of Kottayam, in Kerala, India, famous for its backwater tourism. One of the best parts is that you can enjoy a boat race there, which will make you crazy to know the winners of that race.

Varkala is also known as the pearl of the Arabian Sea. In other words, we can say that Varkala is famous for its beach. Varkala is the only town in Kerala where cliffs are near the Arabian Sea.
The places that you can visit in these places were-Kappil Lake, Anjengo Fort, Varkala Tunnel, Varkala Beach, Janardana Swami Temple, and Sarkara Devi Temple. There is one thing that we should know that the Varkala is generally famous for its temples, which are so beautiful when you look at its beautiful architecture.
The name Wayanad is derived from the ‘Vayal Naadu’, which means translates to “the land of paddy fields”. Wayanad is generally having the largest tribal population in Kerala and trust me it will make you think about tribal culture.
The place that you must visit in Wayanad were- Chembra Peak, Banasura Sagar Dam, Kuruva Island, Bamboo Factory, Jain Temple, Pookode Lake, Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary there are more places that you can visit in Wayanad but the above-mentioned places are most popular that you should experience.
Okay, travelers after visiting tribal place Wayanad it’s time to visit, another popular place called Kannur. You know Kannur was formally called “Cannanore”. Kannur is also considered as “The crown of Kerala”, this place is famous for ancient temples, beaches, monuments, and picnic spots.
The places that you mustn’t miss in Kannur were- St. Angelo Fort, Muzhappilangad, Palakkayam Thattu, Kannur Lighthouse, Vismaya Water Park, The Payyambalam Beach, Thottada Beach, Ezhimala hill, Tellicherry Fort, and many other beautiful places that you must witness.
Okay everybody it’s time to visit one of the famous beaches in Kerala i.e. Kovalam beach. Yes, you guessed right.. Kovalam is famous for its beach. Kovalam has covered an area about 25km from Trivandrum city in Kerala, India, which is located nearly 17km south of the city center.
One more interesting fact is that “Kovalam” means a grove of coconut trees and trust me not only trees you can watch various other things on the beach for example like huge kites that flying in the sky with the flow of wind that makes you feel calm and peace.
Other than Kovalam beach you can also visit other places like- Samudra beach, Aruvikkara Dam, Vellayani Lake, Hawah Beach, Valiyathura Pier, Lighthouse Beach, Karamana River, Halcyon Castle, Shri Padmanabhswamy Temple, so don’t miss the opportunity to visit these places.
As I already told you guys about Trivandrum that it is also known as Thiruvananthapuram which is the capital of our GODS OWN COUNTRY. So Trivandrum is famous for its beaches, waterparks, temples, and much more. The name comes from the Malayalam word Thiru-Anantha-Puram which means “The City of Lord Ananta”.
The places that you must visit in Trivandrum were- Neyyar Dam & Wildlife Sanctuary, Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Poovar, Kanakakunnu Palace, Agastyarkoodam, Zoological Park, Happy Land Water Theme Park, so don’t forget to visit all these places.
Kozhikode is also known as “CALICUT”, is an Indian city, the second-largest city in the state of Kerala. Kozhikode word is derived from Koyil-Kota which means fortified palace. Kozhikode is famous for shopping and music.
The places that you must visit Backwaters in Kozhikode, Kozhippara Falls, Thusharagiri Fall, the Thikkoti Lighthouse, Beypore, Kakkayam, Lion’s park, Sweet Street, Elathur, and many other places that you shouldn’t miss.
Thekkady is a popular town nearby Periyar National Park, which is one of the most famous national parks in Kerala. here also, the name Thekkady comes from the word “Thekku” which means “teak”. This city is located around 257 km (160 mi) from Trivandrum.

So about Idukki, it is a district in the Indian state of Kerala, it was established by dividing the district of Kottayam into two parts. The name of this place comes from the word Idukku which means narrow gorge (Kanth).it covers an area of about 4358km2 and is the second largest district in Kerala after Palakkad.
So here’s the most awaiting thing, that is, the places that you can visit in Idukki – the Hill-view Park, Kulamavu dam, the Idukki Arch Dam, Nadukani, Anakarra, Keezharkuthu Falls, the Periyar National Park, Thommankuthu Falls, the Mangala Devi temple and Murrikaddy.
