2. Manali:


Another popular place to visit in Himachal Pradesh is Manali. Like Shimla, Manali is also a popular hill station that is covered with white snow which looks like a crystal. Before you experience this beautiful crystal snow make sure you have proper winter wears so that you can protect yourself from cold.

So going ahead you can visit the Hidimba Devi temple, which is one of the most famous temples. This temple is surrounded by tall trees which makes it more beautiful and peaceful especially in the snow. Another famous temple in Manali is vashisht temple, which is known for its hot spring that is believed to have healing powers.

Dharamshala is a municipal cooperation city in the upper reaches of the Kangra valley which is surrounded by dense forest. When you enter this place you will find that the environment is quite related to Buddhism, which will make you curious to know more about it ..there are many stories behind Dharamshala which you can hear from these localities who live there, by this way you can know the secrets of this place.

So let’s explore Dharamshala… The first place you can visit is WAR MEMORIAL which is been made to tribute that warrior who gave their lives to save our mother country by engraving their names on the rocks.

The second place you can visit is MCLEOD GANJ which is 19km far away from Kangra, where you can see Namgyal monastery which is a personal monastery for the 14th Dalai Lama and relates to the very second religious teacher of the Buddhist belief. Apart from a beautiful monastery, Namgyal is also a center for education called Namgyal tantric college.

4. Dalhousie:


Dalhousie is one of the most famous hill stations in Chamba district, in the northern Indian state. Being a hill station Dalhousie has pleasant weather in spring and autumn. If you are visiting in the summer season then I would recommend wearing cotton clothes because it gets a little hot here and if you are visiting in the winter season then I would recommend wearing woolen clothes because of heavy snow.

There are many hotels that you can stay in Dalhousie like hotel grand view, snow valley resorts Dalhousie, hotels as Clarks inn, Brij villa, Lall Ji tourist resorts, and many other hotels. The starting price of these hotels was rs 2968 or 3388, I know it’s a bit costly but if you want to explore then you have to spend some amount of money.

If you are a shopaholic then you must visit a nearby market from your hotels, the people who live there call market as “mall” and the best part is that the items which they were selling are handmade and trust me guys it is so beautiful. There are almost 30 to 40 shops where you can purchase woolen, ladies’ wear, antiques like trays, and much more. If you go further you can see various small hotels like mani-Mahesh Rasoi or a lovely open terrace so that you can have some meals there. Most of the shops are Tibetan so you can see a variety of Tibetan culture clothes.

You can visit Panchpula waterfall which is 2km away from the market nearby the hotel grand view (the distance of waterfall can be varied according to your hotel location.).when you reach that waterfall you first have to cross a bridge by paying 200 rs, afterward you have to ride in zipline but if you don’t want to pay then you can use stairs to reach there, the waterfall is located 3-4 minutes away. It’s a small waterfall so please don’t keep high expectations. You can also trek Ganji Pahari which is 2km away. You can also visit Bharmour, Khajjiar (there is a temple Khajji nag), Chamba, Chamera lake, Dain Kund hilltop.

5. Kasol:


Kasol is a little village in Himachal Pradesh situated on the banks of the river Parvati which is commonly known as ‘Amsterdam OF INDIA’. If you love treks, nature, backpackers then you can visit this place as it includes various treks like Kheerganga, yanker pass, Sar pass, and pin Parvati pass.

Kasol is also known as mini Israel of India because of the Israel tourist coming here all the way, as it offers party stuff and all the other facilities. when you visit this place you can stay at any hotels like hostel cozy beds, the hosteller Kasol, kheer Ganga trekking camps but I recommend that you should stay in the alpine guest house, the reason behind this recommendation is that its location beside Parvati river where you can experience the sound of the river flows which make you calm and steady.

From the alpine guest house, you can visit moon dance café where you can experience Israeli food and desserts from the German bakery impersonally saying you mustn’t miss this fabulous food. Not only this cafe you can visit Jim Morrison café also. the place where you can visit Kasol is Tosh, which is a small village in Parvati village, located at a distance of 21 km from Kasol while driving you can experience the beauty of nature through mountains, lush green plants, and trees..such a calming and peaceful scenery.

When you reach Tosh you need a hotel to stay in so, there are few hotels nearby where you can stay but if you ask me then I recommend pink Floyd café (a first thing which is to be understood by you guys is that I’m not promoting any hotels). you can see heart-melting views of mountains which are covered by clouds from your hotel balcony. one of the specialties of pink Floyd café is that they provide chocolate balls after lunch which is quite famous and it’s so delicious you must try that if you are staying that hotel.

The best time to visit tosh is April to October. From tosh, you can also visit another small village called kettle.. but the thing is you can’t use vehicles like car or jeep.. because you have to cross the very narrow road (if you are trekking)so make sure you have someone to guide you so that you can’t lose the way. after some meters of trekking, you can see a hotel to stay, named Shiva place where you can stay & enjoy the food with beautiful mountain views. From where you can visit glacier point. Where you can spot different body colors of horses.

Kasol is famous for mountains, rivers as well as the best place for trekking while trekking you can see how amazing the rivers, animals (like horses), the birds and all..it is a very different world from our busy world. make sure you don’t miss this opportunity.

Spiti valley can be considered a mountainous cold desert. Where you can see fascinating valleys, windswept landscapes, and quiet villages. Before going ahead you should know the meaning of “SPITI”, it means “Middle Land” i.e. the land between Tibet and India. as it is land between Tibet and India that’s why it has a Buddhist culture. So let’s not waste time grab your items we are going to explore Spiti valley.

The first place you can visit in Spiti valley is Tabo, a small town in the Lahaul and Spiti valley on the banks of Spiti River in Himachal Pradesh. from this town you can get the most amazing pictures of clouds that cover mountains, sometimes it feels like mountains were touching sky. One more thing is that you can see there farming, mostly it is a step farming, which is done so systematically and well organized, they generally grow peas, potatoes, and many other crops.

The second place you can visit is Dhanker, it is considered as one of the most attractive tourist places, It is located in between Tabo and Kaza. Dhankar is generally famous for its monastery called Dhanker monastery. When you reach that monastery you will experience amazing views that you can’t explain with your own words.so if you plan to visit this place then make sure you don’t miss this magical view.

The other places that you can visit are Kaza, kee monastery, pin valley, Chander Taal, Kungre monastery, Langza. There is one thing in common about this Spiti valley is that there is an influence of Buddhism that is why you will see monks and other Buddhists with their culture.

7. Khajjiar:


Khajjiar is a hill station in the Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh. Khajjiar is also called mini Switzerland. it is one of the best places for those who love nature and its silence. the localities who lives there considered this place as the best spot for a picnic that’s why it’s been said that the beauty of Khajjiar can only be enjoyed while walking a long distance, so I recommend, that if you visit this place then spend some time with your loved ones by walking. not only this, there are lots of people who spotted rabbits, horses, and many other animals in this place.it is also famous for its beautiful heritage house where most of the people enjoy this spots by taking pictures to make it memorable.

8. Kasauli:


Kasauli is an attractive mix of hiking trails, mountains, and lush landscapes. It is also considered the best attractive place for those who in love with nature. Without wasting any time I’ll tell you the places where you can visit.

You can visit the sunset point where you can experience the most peaceful view of the sunset, away from all the hustle and bustle, you will feel calm and silent.

The next place you can visit is Manki point, it is the highest point of the town and is one of the most famous attractions of the place. This place has a small temple dedicated to lord hanuman. The other places like gilbert natural trail, Christ church, Shri Baba Balak Nath temple, Gurkha fort.

9. Kangra Valley:


Kangra valley is created by Katoch Kshatriya Rajputs of the Chandervanshi family it has another name called Bhimagar. Kangra valley has unending natural beauty and beautiful attractions, the best thing about this Kangra valley is that the peoples, who live there are very friendly to the tourists which will help you to find histories of various historical places which will make you salute our India for having such a beautiful place we have.

The places where you can visit are Bajinath temple, Kaleshwar Mahadev temple, Nadun, and Kareri lake. If you love, historical places then I recommend you to visit Kangra fort, it is considered as the largest fort in the Himalayan region and perhaps also the oldest one. Indrahar pass is a mountain pass located at an altitude of over 4300 meters, it lies between Kangra and Chamba districts. Jawala Devi temple, Chamunda Devi temple, make sure you visit the above-mentioned places.

Rohtang pass is named as such due to people working in bad weather trying to cross the pass, it connects the Kullu valley with Lahaul & Spiti valley of Himachal Pradesh, India. This place follows Buddhist culture, when you reach there, you will feel amazing when you will know their culture, their prayers, their way of dressing and all this make you feel peaceful and calm.

The best time to visit this place is the second week of September to the second week of October. If you are crazy about adventurous sports then you can do trekking, Sledge rides, mountain biking, photography, skiing & tire drop. if you don’t know how to do enjoy this sport then no worries there are guides who will help you to enjoy this sport with proper security.

11. Chamba:


“Shimla Nahi Basna, Kasauli Nahi Basna, Chamba Jana Zarror”- “Shimla not settled, Kasauli not settled, needed to go to Chamba”(in English) are the openings lines of Himachal Pradesh’s folk song. Chamba is a town in the Chamba district, is the loveliest valley having scenic attractions, sparkling streams, dense alpine tree cover, rich wildlife & fertile valleys.

If you are planning to visit this place then you must wear light cotton clothes in summer, light woolen clothes in spring and autumn but for winter heavy woolen clothe sis necessary.

I know you wanted to know the places that you can visit..right? so here are the places- Khajjiar lake{one of the most beautiful lakes with surrounding mountain trees & animals(like cows)}, Kalatop wildlife sanctuary, Chamunda Devi temple(where you can get a picture of small bells which is hanging at the ceiling of the temple near the cculputre{murti in (Hindi)} of goddess Devi, Chamera dam (which is surrounded with mountain edges and very clean lake.),Manimahesh Lake(in front of the lake you can get a nice view of the mountain that touches blue sky having white clouds.) and rang mahal.

The beauty of Kaza increases when snow covers the mountains, bubbling of rivers its sounds, landscapes, and shimmering steam, and many others that make it an outstanding place. the best time to visit this place is between the months of June and October.

The places that you shouldn’t miss- Kibber village (the houses in this village very similar in design and architecture.),Key monastery (well-known Buddhist monastery, amazing architecture, calm and peaceful atmosphere), Kunzum pass (where you can see Shigri-bara glacier and can get the gorgeous view of Spiti valley), Sakya Tangyud monastery (one of the best sites to gain religious lesson about Buddhism).Komic village(this village is the hub of fossils, it is also home to a small beautiful monastery, you can visit other villages like Hikkium village and Langza village.)
